these THESES examines the multitude of ways in which technology intercedes the body's capacity to interface with its environment, and also proposes the body as an increasingly obsolete technology. The exhibit utilizes digital, analog slide and overhead projections of still, moving and text-based images, as well as critical and creative literary excerptsÑfrom Elsenaar & Scha to ZamyatinÑpartially translated into broken html code and projected onto surfaces throughout the space, to accompany a Butoh-inspired performance of two bodies atop 100 lbs of white flour set to a sparse soundscape, in order to examine the plethora of ways in which technology mediates, displaces, and translates how the body experiences and remembers.
